A gift tag adds something

When wrapping gifts don’t forget the tag. Certainly important for identification they are also opportunity to add a personal message. For grand occasions like weddings, be sure to include your name and make it legible.

Usually about the size of a playing card or smaller they offer an opportunity to extend your craft skills by designing a complimentary piece. Whatever the gift wrap motif try to carry it over into the tag by using the same motif and color scheme. Don’t be bashful about embellishing this with some little treasure. A finding, costume jewelry, button or piece of ephemera can be used as an accent. An envelope is not necessary but a paper punch will allow you to attach a string or ribbon. It little touches like this that make gifts even more special.

Tip 23
Paper doesn’t take up much space. Old magazines, calendars and maps can be used for wrapping projects. A department store bag with bold graphics can be transformed with a little creativity.
