Gift Baskets

A festive gift that will certainly delight the senses is a gift basket tailored to the recipient. You do not need a lot of supplies to start your first gift basket, in fact you could probably create a basket with items that you already have at home, or at least make a good start. Once you have a theme you can begin to assemble items for your gift basket. There are many ways to go. Keeping in mind the weight, over all shape and visual presentation. If you are good in the kitchen,, homemade goods could be a good choice, mixed with exotic fruits, cheeses or sweets. Putting together an assortment will ensure success.

Arrangement is an important way to create excitement with the tallest items in the center of the basket. Smaller items to the front and sides. If products look attractive in their original covering then that’s fine. Wrapping some gifts can add to the suspense and make others better looking.

Don’t over look related gift possibilities when planning your gift basket. Put on your thinking cap before you start and try to imagine the excitement you can create by including a few offbeat gift items as well. Such things like a ball cap with an inscription, or a pair of tickets to an event, or even a subscription to a magazine, or book of stamps that fit’s the theme.

The right presentation will give your gift basket the professional touch. With all the items arranged in a bed of raffia, you are almost done. Usually baskets are wrapped in a clear protective film. This helps keep the display from shifting and aids in keeping food products fresh. Now is the time to add decorations that will make your gift special. The clear plastic wrap can be tied off with multiple color strands of curly ribbon. For an added touch a fancy bow will do nicely or perhaps small stickers artfully arranged. And don’t overlook that gift card - a great way to express your personal sentiments and have some artistic fun. Happy wrapping.

Tip 23
Paper doesn’t take up much space. Old magazines, calendars and maps can be used for wrapping projects. A department store bag with bold graphics can be transformed with a little creativity.
